The End of the World?
58People are saying that the world will end in 2012 due to various reasons. Some people believe it will end due to global warming; others believe it will end the way Nostradamus described the end of the world.
My friends and I have read into this "end of the world" ordeal, and we have come up with this: 2012 is the next year that all of the planets in our solar system will align, global warming has occurred on planet Earth before, Nostradamus may have been correct about a multitude of other instances in Earth's History, and there will be a World War III; not quite sure when though.
First, 2012 may be the next year that all of our planets will align, but that does not mean there could be other years in the future, near or distant, where our planets will align again. They will only a align for a split second; the Earth will not come to a stop and the entire population will not die. However, life as we know it will not be the same. By that I mean: the way we talk, act, and see others will be of an entirely different perception than before the alignment of the planets.
Second, global warming has occurred numerous times throughout the existence of "Earth," as we call it. The "Dinosaur" era, for example, was a global warming period. Did the Earth end? No, it did not. Human beings survived that era and the next, the "Ice Age." As of this moment the Earth is getting warmer, there is not very much we can do at all to prevent it from increasing in temperature. We may have Hybrid vehicles, no CFC aerosol, higher emission standards, and President Obama shutting down oil refineries. The damage has already been done, and it was not due to the younger generation's stupidity; it was due to our parents and grandparents and their parents and granparents etc. trying to be better than every other nation in this world.
Third, Nostradamus' predictions about our history and future may have been true, to some. Nostradamus' predictions are just predictions by a scholar from an earlier time. The phrase "the truth is in the eye of the beholder" is always the first thing that comes to mind when Nostradamus in mentioned. His predictions could have been interpreted differently by different people. Also, the phrase, "It was on TV, it has to be true" or "It's in this magazine, it's so true" are much too commonly used in our culture today. Believe me, I am not trying to deter anyone from watching television or reading magazines or even the daily newspaper; as a society we have become glued to entertainment of false reality, vulgar, immature content, news broadcasts that ommit certain details or even stories about events happening today, right now, that need everyones attention, and the majority of people do not understand that the media is only making money when people are watching their channel/s; seriously, who wants to see evil, morbid actions taking place in Africa, southern Asia, or South America. I will tell you who: the people who want to preserve peace as a way of life in this world. You guessed it, I am one of those peace keeping bastards.
Lastly, WWIII will happen, whether we like it or not. Iraq may have been the start of it, maybe Afghanistan is, or maybe the next country we decide to invade due to a threat of "WMDs." It may happen in our lifetime, it may not. World War III WILL happen, and you had better be ready for it, if your not, the other guys will be, take my word on that.
I, Timothy Stewart, do not intend to offend anyone that reads this. The previous is my opinion, and mine alone.
